Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and be single, divorced, or widowed and genuinely seeking marriage. Providing false information may result in suspension or termination.

2. Account and Verification

You are responsible for information and activity associated with your account. Keep your sign-in credentials secure. We may request additional verification or remove accounts that appear fraudulent, deceptive, or unsafe.

3. Islamic Code of Conduct

Jaan is intended for serious, shariah-compliant matchmaking. You must not harass, threaten, impersonate, use hate speech, solicit money, share explicit sexual content, or post prohibited content. Violations may result in immediate restrictions, suspension, or termination.

4. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to misuse the service. Prohibited activity includes: fraud, impersonation, blackmail, extortion, doxxing, stalking, unauthorized data scraping, spam, malware distribution, and any illegal activity.

We may investigate misconduct occurring on or off the app when it affects user safety or the integrity of the platform.

5. User Content and License

You retain ownership of the photos and information you upload. By uploading, you grant Jaan a license to use that content to operate and improve the App. Prohibited content includes nudity, graphic violence, unlawful harassment, and content you do not have rights to.

6. Safety and User Interactions

You are responsible for your interactions with other users. Use caution when communicating off-platform or meeting in person. Jaan does not guarantee the conduct, identity, or intentions of any user.

7. Moderation, Suspension, and Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Code of Conduct. We may retain evidence for safety and legal reasons. To appeal a termination, contact support@jaan.love.

8. Subscription and Billing

Some features may require a paid subscription. If offered, pricing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and billing terms will be shown at purchase and governed by the platform billing rules (Apple App Store/ Google Play) where applicable.

9. Intellectual Property

The app, branding, and software are owned by Jaan or its licensors and protected by law. Except as expressly allowed in these Terms, you may not copy, reverse engineer, distribute, or commercially exploit the service.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS, OR $100 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Jaan and its affiliates harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Disputes will be resolved via arbitration unless you timely opt out (see below), except where prohibited by applicable law.

Arbitration opt-out: You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice to support@jaan.love within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms. The opt-out notice must include your name, email, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material updates will be communicated in-app, by email, or on this page. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
